Welcome to Ask Local. These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) form a legally binding agreement between you (“you” or “User”) and Trice Systems Private Limited (“Trice”, “we”, “us” or “our”), a company incorporated under the laws of India with its registered office at 101A, 1st Floor, Plot No 57, Telecom Nagar, Gachibowli, K.V. Rangareddy, Telangana 500032. By accessing or using the Ask Local website, web app, WhatsApp interface or any related service (collectively, the “Platform”), you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Platform.
1. About Ask Local
Ask Local is a hyperlocal discovery and ordering platform that connects residents of a community with nearby home chefs, kitchens, grocery stores, bakeries, repair providers and other local businesses (“Sellers”). Trice provides the technology that helps you browse listings, build carts and send orders to Sellers, primarily over WhatsApp. Trice itself is not the seller, manufacturer, preparer or deliverer of the goods and services listed on the Platform unless expressly stated.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years of age and capable of entering into a binding contract under applicable law to use the Platform. By using the Platform, you represent and warrant that you meet these requirements and that the information you provide is true, accurate and complete.
3. Your Account
Certain features require you to share your name, mobile number, address and location. You are responsible for keeping this information accurate and for all activity that occurs through your account or device. Notify us promptly if you suspect unauthorised use.
4. Use of the Platform
You agree not to:
- use the Platform for any unlawful, fraudulent or harmful purpose;
- impersonate any person, or misrepresent your affiliation with any person or entity;
- upload or transmit content that is defamatory, obscene, infringing, hateful or otherwise objectionable;
- attempt to gain unauthorised access to the Platform, interfere with its operation, or probe, scan or test its vulnerability;
- scrape, copy or extract data from the Platform except as expressly permitted; and
- use the Platform to send spam, unsolicited messages or harass any Seller or User.
5. Orders, Pricing & Payments
When you place an order through the Platform, you are entering into a transaction directly with the relevant Seller. Prices, availability, packaging, taxes and delivery charges are set by the Seller and may change without notice. The Seller will confirm final price, availability and delivery timelines on WhatsApp before the order is fulfilled. Payments may be processed by Trice and/or our authorised third-party payment partners (such as Razorpay). By initiating a payment you authorise the relevant processor to charge your selected instrument for the amount shown.
6. Cancellations & Refunds
Cancellation, refund and return policies are determined by the Seller for the goods or services they offer. Where Trice has collected payment on behalf of a Seller, eligible refunds will be processed back to the original payment instrument within a reasonable period after the Seller authorises the refund. For perishable items (home food, fresh produce, etc.), cancellations are typically not possible once the Seller has confirmed preparation.
7. Sellers & Third-Party Content
Listings, menus, photographs, descriptions and pricing are provided by the respective Sellers. Trice does not independently verify every detail and does not endorse or guarantee the quality, safety or legality of any item offered by a Seller. Your interaction with any Seller is solely between you and that Seller. We encourage you to review Seller information and confirm details on WhatsApp before paying.
8. Third-Party Integrations & Connected Services
The Platform offers optional integrations with third-party services so that Sellers can extend their store with tools they already use. Examples include but are not limited to Google Analytics (read-only traffic reporting), payment processors (such as Razorpay), shipping providers, accounting / POS systems and messaging platforms.
By connecting any third-party service to your Trice account (typically via OAuth or by entering an API key), you authorise Trice to access that service on your behalf within the scope you approve at the time of connection. You also agree that:
- Your use of the connected service remains governed by that service’s own terms of service and privacy policy, in addition to these Terms.
- You are solely responsible for the accounts, properties, credentials and configurations you connect — including ensuring you have authority to connect them on behalf of your business.
- Trice accesses only the scopes you authorise and uses the data only for the integration’s stated purpose. We do not share third-party data with other parties or use it for advertising or ad personalisation.
- You may disconnect any integration at any time from the Trice Integrations page, which clears the credentials Trice stores. Some third-party services additionally allow you to revoke Trice’s access from their own settings (e.g. myaccount.google.com/permissions for Google integrations).
- Trice is not responsible for the availability, accuracy, security or behaviour of third-party services. Issues with a connected service should be raised with that service’s own support.
Specifically, where Trice integrates with Google APIs (e.g. Google Analytics), Trice’s use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Details of what we access and how we use it are described in our Privacy Policy.
9. Membership & Subscriptions
From time to time the Platform may offer paid memberships, subscriptions or recurring orders. The benefits, duration, fees and renewal terms applicable to each plan will be presented before you subscribe. Membership fees, once paid, are generally non-refundable except as required by law.
10. Intellectual Property
The Platform, including its software, design, Ask Local and Trice trademarks, logos and content (other than Seller-provided content), is owned by Trice or its licensors and is protected by intellectual property laws. You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the Platform for personal, non-commercial purposes in accordance with these Terms.
11. Privacy
Our collection and use of personal information is described in our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these Terms.
12. Disclaimers
The Platform is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Trice disclaims all warranties, express or implied, regarding the Platform and any goods or services offered by Sellers, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, accuracy and uninterrupted availability.
13. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Trice and its directors, officers, employees and agents shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or exemplary damages arising out of or in connection with your use of the Platform. Trice’s total aggregate liability in any matter arising out of or relating to these Terms shall not exceed the amounts paid by you to Trice in the three months preceding the event giving rise to the claim, or INR 1,000, whichever is higher.
14. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Trice and its affiliates from any claim, loss or demand, including reasonable legal fees, arising out of your use of the Platform, your breach of these Terms or your violation of any law or third-party rights.
15. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to the Platform at any time without notice if we believe you have violated these Terms or for any other reason at our sole discretion. You may stop using the Platform at any time.
16. Governing Law & Disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Any dispute arising out of or in connection with these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts at Hyderabad, Telangana.
17. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. The updated version will be posted on this page with a new “Last updated” date. Continued use of the Platform after the changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
